Piers - Managing Director at Alpha Housing Services Ltd

Piers (MIRPM) – Managing Director

Prior to joining Alpha Housing Services, Piers spent around 12 years within the financial sector. During this time he held a number of progressively senior positions becoming experienced in business finance, performance management, stakeholder development, and corporate affairs. The highlight of his time was being recognised by HRH Princess Anne with a prestigious award for his Leadership on the company’s fundraising ambitions.

In 2014, Piers made the move to Alpha Housing Services and has relished the opportunity. Property has always been a real passion and, as an accredited professional landlord, being part of Alpha Housing Services team was the perfect fit. Piers has also been accredited through the Institute of Property Managers and attained the MIRPM status.

Piers has strong family values, enjoys scuba diving as well as spending his spare time with family and friends.

Giles - Property Manager at Alpha Housing Services Ltd

Giles (AIRPM) – Property Manager

As the longest standing member of the team, Giles has been a Property Manager for over 20 years. Like Piers, Giles is also a professional Landlord and passionate about good property maintenance. Accredited through IRPM, Giles’ motivation comes from understanding the property and making it the best it can be. Unusually he has seen many sides of what it is like to manage leasehold property as he has lived in a flat, owns investment flats, owns ground rent investments and of course, manages leasehold blocks of flats.

On a personal note, Giles enjoys generally just being outside; whether that is walking or gardening.

Emma - Maintenance Manager at Alpha Housing Services Ltd

Emma – Office Manager

Emma has worked in the property industry for over 15 years. With her husband, they have a successful development partnership renovating and selling property, which involves overseeing work, organising contractors and materials. Like Piers and Giles, Emma is also a Landlady with properties in blocks of flats and understands what people are looking for from a Block & Estate Management company.

In Emma’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and her Labrador and catching up with friends and family. She also attends her local gym.

Karen - Assistant Property Manager at Alpha Housing Services Ltd

Kirsty – Assistant Property Manager

Kirsty has over 15 years experience in the property industry, starting at a leading estate agent in central Bristol in the year 2000 and then in 2005 moved on to an international commercial property and asset management firm where she developed her attention to detail and customer focused attitude, she enjoys all aspects of property management and has experience across a wide range of sectors.

Kirsty has returned to work after a 5 year gap where she devoted herself to raising her two children, having recently relocated to Taunton with her husband and young children Kirsty is enjoying exploring the local countryside and restaurants.

Jane - Accounts at Alpha Housing Services Ltd

Jane – Accounts

Jane has worked for Alpha since early 2015. Her main responsibility is to manage service charges and to ensure all company policies and procedures comply with ARMA. Before joining Alpha Housing Services, Jane worked as Quality Manager for a Telehealth Company for ten years, and was responsible for HR and training as well as managing all company records and auditing all processes and procedures, to adhere with the ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and MDD Annex II accreditation. Previously, Jane worked for a firm of Chartered Accountants for eleven years, gaining a wide range of valuable experience, with roles including that of company secretary, credit control, maintaining the company accounts, completing personal tax returns and organising marketing events. 

Jane is very much a family person and enjoys spending time with her young family.

Emmalene - Property Co-ordinator

Emmalene – Property Co-ordinator

Emmalene has recently joined Alpha Housing Services and brings with her several years of property management experience. She enjoys helping customers and is now looking to develop her knowledge within the property maintenance sector.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and going for walks.

James – Administrator

James started an apprenticeship with us on a Level 2 Business Administration Course, which he passed with distinction. Alpha Housing was a natural choice for James, with several of his family members already involved in the business and growing up around it. James is an aspiring Property Manager and Landlord and has now started his journey of becoming a great future PM at Alpha Housing!  

 In his spare time, James enjoys kayaking and walking.

Clare – Finance Team Leader

Clare has a background in finance spanning more than 25 years, working in a variety of sectors including banking and healthcare. She brings a wealth of knowledge to Alpha and is passionate about providing excellent but friendly customer service in a professional setting. Being new to the property sector, Clare is keen to further develop her skills while achieving a good understanding of the specific needs of our customers.  
 
Having just moved to Somerset after several years overseas, Clare is enjoying exploring the area with her family, which includes lots of dog walks.

Sam – Office Administrator

Sam has over 20 years experience in administrative and accounting roles within a property-focused environment. As the first point of contact at the office, Sam is a friendly and helpful team member who enjoys interacting with others and providing customer service to the highest standard. She is also eager to expand her knowledge and experience within the property management sector.
 
In her spare time, Sam has three children and is a qualified Swimming Coach; she enjoys spending time at the pool and watching her children compete.

Laura – Property Manager

Laura has a passion for property renovation, having renovated a few properties, including her 160 year old cottage. She has had several businesses herself and has just joined us after being a manager at a leading health retreat for 7 years, looking after a grade 2 listed building.

In her spare time she enjoys gardening, especially for wildlife and exploring the local countryside with her dog.

David – Finance Administrator

David has a background in accounting, finance and data management. Over the last 20 years, he has gained invaluable experience working with accountancy, construction and data analysis companies. He is passionate about excellent customer service, high work quality and data accuracy. He enjoys building relationships and understanding and meeting the specific needs of our customers. 

In David’s spare time, he loves spending his time with his wife, weekend adventures exploring, country walks with his Dachshunds, antiques and vintage cars.

Beth – Property Co-ordinator

Beth has joined the Alpha Team following her previous role as a Claims Handler within buildings insurance. As a graduate, Beth has an eagerness to learn and to achieve, making her very excited to develop her knowledge and skills and apply them to her new role as a Property Co-ordinator at Alpha Housing.

Outside of the office, you will find Beth exploring National Trust’s, enjoying a flask of tea at the beach, or camping in her tepee!

James Orchard - Property Manager

James – Property Manager

Prior to joining Alpha Housing Services, James has spent 7 years within the property sector. During this time, he held several positions including Lettings Manager and a RICS qualified surveyor.

Outside of the office, you will find James walking his dog and enjoying a round of golf.

Jo - Property Coordinator

Jo Cottrell – Property Coordinator

Jo joined the team with a background in Retirement Housing Management and brings a wealth of experience in scheme refurbishment, reactive maintenance, and juggling budgets as well as the day-to-day running of a Retirement Housing Scheme.   Jo is passionate about customer service and aims to exceed expectations.

Away from the office, you will find Jo relaxing with her family,  taking in the sea air at her Chalet at Dunster Beach.
